Title:  Kill or Be Killed-Real World Self Defense for Tae Kwon Do Masters

Author:   Marc Zirogiannis

Genre: Non-Fiction/Autobiography/Sports/Taekwondo

Format: Paperback

58 Pages

Publisher: Taekwondo Life Magazine

Publication Date:  October 2025

Synopsis: The title of this book was very specifically chosen. Unlike many books, even ones I have written in the past, which are intended for a wide audience, the focus of this work is specific. “Kill or Be Killed”. Those words are sincere. We practice and train not to fight. We hope never to be in a life or death situation; however, the notion of this book is that in the event an attack is inevitable we must be prepared to defend ourselves and our loved ones at all costs. We take this responsibility seriously; violence is our last resort. “Real World Self-Defense For Tae Kwon Do Masters”. This audience is specific. With defending oneself so severely the task is daunting and requires discipline, maturity, and serious training….

New Release- Martial Art Over 50: One Man’s Dream The Inner Aspect Step by James Killingsworth

41+G2n5R9oL._SX332_BO1,204,203,200_

Title:  Martial Art Over 50: One Man’s Dream The Inner Aspect

Author:   James Killingsworth

Genre: Non-Fiction/Sports/Taekwondo

Format: Paperback

250 Pages

Publisher:  Independent

Publication Date:  April 21, 2021

Synopsis:  This book has been written for the benefit of those men and women who wish to practice martial art and particularly taekwondo in their later years. These are to me, the most remarkable people. I have known many. The wish to grow in the sense of being and to strive to find out about yourself within the crucible of martial art is a very high aim.

Most people at age of fifty or older are winding down their lives, becoming more sedentary and relinquishing their remaining potential to the relentless reclamation forces of Mother Nature. But to those who wish more from life and are striving to develop their individuality under the auspices of martial art, it is to you that speak. It is to you that I bow and acknowledge this high aim and the path that I have traveled.

Although this book is primarily for seniors who begin martial art late in life, the principles therein can be useful even for those who have practiced since childhood. For time passes through all of us and we are all are students in the aging process. In fact, this journey for seniors can be even more rewarding than for young people in the sense that it is much more difficult without youth. For instead of youth, seniors have to overcome two obstacles. The first obstacle is all of the difficulties that are associated with the practice of martial art. The second obstacle is all the difficulties that are associated with the aging process.

The contents of this book will reflect the uniqueness of my background in life. Being a pharmacist by profession, with degrees in biology and chemistry, I have devoted many years of service to the sick, the aged and dying. That has instilled in me a deep desire to understand the aging process and how to retard it. In this book, nutrition, injuries, training, yoga, meditation and many other aspects of martial art are explored from the perspective of achieving a major aim in one’s life. In addition, my participation in esoteric groups over many years has revealed to me inner knowledge of the laws of the body, mind, feelings and the importance of their continued growth.

To most people, the horizontal or external aspect of martial art is all they will ever know. Yet to a few, there is a great yearning to penetrate the external and seek the essence, or inner aspect. These people have a deep longing to understand their life and to grow as a human should, as a self-evolving creature. This is vertical development or self-individuality.

To be sure, there must be a balance between the outer and inner aspects. It is this balance I strive to elucidate in this book. It is my wish that martial art can penetrate your essence and open you up to knowledge and understanding of a deeper level of being.

Come now, we have much to do.

New Book- Above and Beyond: Heartfelt Stories of the American Police Officer by Ronnie Malina

Above and Beyond

Title:     Above and Beyond

Subtitle:             Heartfelt Stories of the American Police Officer

Author:             Ronnie Malina (with forward by Ann Carrizales)

Publisher:        Ronnie Malina

Genre:               Bio/Law Enforcement/Police Community Stories

Format:          Paperback & ebook

Length:    162 pages

Publication Date: November 18, 2020

Synopsis:

Above and Beyond: Heartfelt Stories of the American Police Officer is a compilation of positive stories highlighting the spectacular way law enforcement officers interact with citizens across this great nation. With negative headlines and hateful rhetoric being spewed daily on social media platforms and news networks, Ronnie Malina challenges the narrative that all cops are bad with heartwarming stories of hope, compassion, and love. During a time when the honor, integrity, and professionalism of our officers are in constant question, this book showcases how police officers routinely go above and beyond to help those they have sworn an oath to serve.

“The stories in this book point up some of the superlative behavior of these brothers and sisters of the ‘thin blue line.’ They help to redress the balance and restore faith at a time when the media presents so much negativity about these essential public servants. I truly believe that the vast majority of the members of the various Police services have joined for the right reasons and care deeply for the communities they serve. I laughed and sometimes cried while reading these short, punchy stories, each with its clear and usually optimistic message.” Roger Ley, Bestselling author of Chronoscape, The Muslim Prince, and The Steampunk Adventures of Harry Lampeter.
